Release notes
What's new in each version of donote.
v0.7.0 Latest
Settings, split in two
- App settings now hold everything about how donote looks and behaves: theme, fonts, editor options, sync, backup and the command line. Appearance options apply to every workspace instead of one at a time, and your current look carries over.
- Workspace settings are for the workspace itself: its name, and the new Properties page.
- Properties page: see every property and its values, how many items use each one, and when they were last used. Rename, recolor, add and delete them in one place.
- Markdown export now includes all your workspaces, in a folder each. When importing Markdown, you pick the workspace it goes into.
Dates are properties
- Start and end dates are now regular date properties. Remove them from an item like any other property, or create your own date properties.
- Dates show as badges next to the other properties. The dates line under the title and the "Dates under title" setting are gone.
- New workspaces start with a Due date property, alongside Tags.
- View filters can use any date property, or any date at all, for a date range. Lists can be grouped by a date property.
Also new
- Moving an item to another workspace keeps the values of properties with the same name there.
- Tags get a # icon.
- A splash screen while donote starts.
- Code blocks have a new look, with matching light and dark colors.
- Flow canvas: smoother panning, and no more jump after zooming.
- Menus and popovers keep a little distance from the window edge.
- Command line: set a date with
donote set "Start date" 2026-10-12, anddonote viewlists a flow's cards in reading order.
